Criminal Seizure | June 23, 2025 | 148 Animals
he Humane Society of Tulsa assisted the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office in the rescue of 148 dogs from an alleged illegal breeding operation in Rogers County.
Authorities discovered dogs living in overcrowded and inadequate conditions. A total of 100 dogs were removed from the Oologah property and another 48 from the Claremore location. The majority were beagles.
HST responded alongside law enforcement to help safely remove the animals and provide the immediate care they needed following the seizure.
Many of the dogs required veterinary attention and continued rehabilitation after their rescue. Partner organizations later assisted with ongoing medical care, recovery, placement, and adoption efforts.
This large-scale response demonstrates the critical role HST plays when law enforcement and state agencies encounter animal cruelty and neglect cases requiring the immediate removal and care of large numbers of animals.
